Alek Minassian, il conducente di origini armene,  \u00e8 stato arrestato dopo essere sceso dal veicolo ed aver estratto un&#8217;arma. Pare che l&#8217;uomo soffra di problemi psichici. Le autorit\u00e0 hanno lodato il poliziotto che ha compiuto un arresto da manuale, senza usare la forza, nonostante Minassian gli gridasse di ucciderlo.
