Sull&#8217;aereo, un Boeing 777-200, si \u00e8 sviluppato un incendio poco prima del decollo al McCarran International Airport di Las Vegas, causando almeno 14 feriti. I passeggeri hanno abbandonato il bireattore in fiamme sulla pista uscendo attraverso gli scivoli d&#8217;emergenza. L&#8217;incendio \u00e8  partito dal motore sinistro del Boeing 777-200 alle 16.13 ora locale, che ha preso fuoco per ragioni non ancora accertate mentre stava rullando per decollare alla volta dell&#8217;aeroporto londinese di Gatwick.
